Plant Righteously! ~shameless plug~
Between Dr. Dan and my brother, I get to see a lot of cool pictures of nature adventures every weekend. As I've mentioned in my blog before, I work doubles pretty much every Saturday and Sunday, so I don't have much flexibility in my schedule for the outdoors. (I feel a bit like a broken record saying this, but that's part of why I enjoy/appreciate this class so much!) I'm in kind of a crazy-busy highly-time-managed period of my life right now, which is okay because I know its taking me towards my goals. Still, it can be hard having so much on my plate.
Having said that, I really appreciate having a healthy working environment since I spend so much time there. That definitely wasn't the case at my old job, but for the past 6 weeks or so I've been working at Righteous Foods and I LOVE it. Honestly could not recommend more.
But Pamela, why is this relevant to your nature blog??
Well, let me tell you. Obviously the healthy communication and collaborative workplace culture make me love Righteous. But, I think another thing that significantly contributes to the positive environment is all the PLANTS! Like... a LOT of plants. Soo many plants. If I have to be inside for so much of the weekend, I love getting to do it surrounded by succulents of every shape and size. We have plants decorating all the tables, but also use plants to block off the bar and spaces we aren't using (due to decreased capacity thanks to Ms. Rona aka COVID). We also have THE most beautiful patio full of... you guessed it! MORE PLANTS! All the herbs we use in cocktails (side note: I learned how to muddle basil to make a blood orange basil drink yesterday and it was very cool!) and cooking grow on the wall interspersed between tons of different types of succulents. It's really lovely and makes me so happy to be surrounded by so much pretty greenery every weekend. I don't actually have any pictures of Righteous since I started working there, but here are a few from last time I ate there pre-work.
P.S. the food is also delicious, organic, and caters to lots of food preferences and allergies. So feel free to come visit 9am-2pm weekends after you work up an appetite on your morning adventures! (We have limited dine-in hours still because of ~Rona~ so we do a ton of pick up and delivery, but seriously... the patio is lovely, especially in the weather we've been having!)
